THE WORD OF LOÏC LEFOLL
Can you tell us about your background?
I was a rider from the age of 15 to 25, and I was very inexperienced when I stopped riding. The region asked me to train young people, even though I wasn't a great rider. However, I wanted to stay in motorcycling. The youngsters got good results, which attracted the attention of some people who approached me.
You have a strong relationship with Yamaha, how did it start?
My relationship with Yamaha has been going on for 12 years now. Naturally, we form bonds because we're not always at the top of our game, and we inevitably go through difficult seasons. However, Yamaha is always there through the good times and the bad. That's why I've never changed, because they're always there to listen.
What are your objectives for this year?
That's a good question, because it's always tricky to define the team's objectives for this year... I'll give you an ambitious answer: to aim for the title, because we always aspire to reach the highest level. However, we're starting with a very young team where all the drivers are 14 years old. I've seen a lot of drivers come and go, but our youngsters this year have something special and really believe in their dreams. However, we don't have any precise objectives; we'll take each weekend as it comes, always hoping to get the best result.
Can you tell us about the partnership with Eleven MX?
It's a great story because the brand is French and we're a French team. Eleven MX has been a partner of the team for 11 years, so adding Impulse to the partnership is huge. It's not just a partner, I'm good friends with Chris, the head of the company. We've been friends since childhood, so it's a great story. We started working together in the same spirit as when we were young.
TEAM VRT
Created in 2016 by Mickael Vrignon, TEAM VRT aims to help young riders reach the highest level of competition.
After several years in the French Championship, the Vendée-based team made its debut in the EMX125 European Championship with Tom GUYON and reached the top in 2019. That year, Tom GUYON was crowned French Junior Champion, European Vice-Champion and World Vice-Champion. After a year full of promise for the future, TEAM VRT continued its progression and moved up to EMX250 with the aim of fighting at the front.
Thanks to their hard work, the team has achieved Team Factory Juniors status for the KTM factory in 2023.
With two riders making their debut in the EMX250 European Championship: Ferruccio Zanchi and Marc-Antoine Rossi.
For the 2024 season, the VRT team has once again achieved the status of Junior Factory Team, but this time with Yamaha, and becomes the Official Team in the EMX250 European Championship.
The riders were selected in collaboration with YAMAHA. It is with great pride that it welcomes the two REISULIS brothers for the 2024 season, Karlis and Janis, who won the 2023 European Championship. And the third rider will be Ivano Van ERP, a talented 18-year-old Dutchman.
